Dr. Maria Chui
Nurse Consultant
Dr. Maria Chui is an experienced registered nurse, with a particular focus on eldercare for the past two decades. She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Health Science in 2011 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining Roseville Senior Living Management, Dr. Chui was the General Manager (Nursing Service) of Shatin Hospital and Bradbury Hospice. She was the chair of various committees in the New Territories East Cluster Hospitals on subjects related to quality and safety management.
Besides her rich experience in hospital management, Dr. Chui also participated in the academic arena, accrediting nursing and applied gerontology degree program, develop massive online open courses and mobile app on eldercare, as well as providing consultative training. She supervised Master’s Degree students of Health Service Management, and the Clinical Gerontology and End-of Life Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Chui pioneered “Restraint-free care” in Shatin Hospital, and led her team to being awarded the HA Outstanding Team in 2011 on “Fall and Restraint Reduction”. She has often been invited to attend events to raise public and healthcare professional awareness about restraint reduction and fall prevention, in particularly, on eldercare.
As a remarkable leader, Dr. Chui has been respectively awarded the Merit staff of the Hospital Authority (2015), and the Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile Vocational Service Excellence Award (2016).
